Get Outside on Four Wheels: Winter ATV Tours with Outdoor Adventures ATV

Outdoor Adventures ATV: A winter adventure you'll never forget!

Face the Cold head-on

Coming out of the holiday season always has a familiar ring to it. No matter what resolutions we’ve made for the new year, or how many hikes along snowy trails and past ice bath waterfalls we’ve taken; the fact that we’ve spent some amount of time, holed up and buried in holiday meals always remains. There are many ways to start a new year and as the warmth of our back-to-back holiday dinners and fireside card games fades; we suggest diving into 2023 head-on.

What’s the best way to do that? Face everything from your at-work challenges to your personal goals with a sense of excitement and intrigue. As Canadians, something we face this time of year is January’s moody cold as it settles in. Between the 3-degree mornings of pouring rain and sideways winds, and the Saturday afternoons packed with enough snow to render our front doors useless; it can feel less and less enticing to get outside or to plan your winter activities in Ontario. We at GuidED believe that, like anything, the best way to face the cold is to get into it, to embrace it. So, during these winter months, how do we plan our adventures?

Outdoor Winter Activities in Ontario

How many times have you felt cooped up, but asked yourself something along the lines of “is there even anything to do?”. Even a small walk outside can remind us not only that there is a world outside of our living room, but that the possibilities for adventure in this province are endless. Here’s a short list of some things we’ve done close to home this winter: Snowshoeing, Snowboarding, Cross-Country Skiing, Snow Fort Building, and Skating. We’ve even taken a few Polar Dips (talk about facing winter head-on). Surely these are all activities that you’re well aware of, but here’s one you might not have heard of Winter ATV Adventuring.

Winter ATV Adventure Touring

If you are someone who loves the rush of outdoor adventure as much as you love traveling through Ontario’s snow-covered forests; this might be just the activity for you.

Outdoor Adventures ATV is a company based in South River, Ontario that specializes in guided, high-energy, outdoor travel adventure experiences for a range of skill levels and interests. They offer guided ATV adventure packages year-round that range from summertime trail riding through massive puddles, to guided excursions in the dead of winter. They even offer adventure packages for those with more advanced skill levels and their own machines. You have probably heard of people taking ATVs or “all-terrain vehicles” out during the warm seasons of the year, but ATVs are perfectly capable of tackling all kinds of weather and make for great winter activity in Ontario.

What does a day of riding look like?

Once you and your friends have selected the package that fits your adventure vision you can hop in the car and make your way toward the village of South River. Situated amongst the popular natural views that Algonquin Park and its surrounding area have to offer, you will have no shortage of visual stimulation as you travel through Ontario’s northern winter beauty. Once you arrive at Outdoor Adventures ATV headquarters you will be welcomed by the wonderful staff and guides. This family-run business is based on a passion for outdoor adventure in Ontario and strives to ensure that you have an unforgettable experience.

Before the tour begins Outdoor Adventures ATV  provides all riders with the knowledge and necessary skills, ensuring that even the most inexperienced riders can feel comfortable out on the trails. What comes next promises to be the adventure of a lifetime! From the second your chosen machine roars to life you’ll feel a surge of adrenaline that will carry on throughout the day. Rocky climbs, followed by icy straights, to winding slopes through the forest, all while moving in syncopation with the rest of the group. Planned breaks at intermittent rest areas take place so that you can fuel yourself while taking in the views and sharing experiences with your group. Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled… if you are lucky you’ll see some wildlife.

Packages

Pop on over to their website to check out the unique options for guided winter ATV tours. For those interested in ATV touring this winter: we recommend checking out the Moose Winter Package. For anyone interested in something a little less intense they also offer snowshoeing tour packages, or if you’re looking for a mixed bag of winter adventure with a group in mind you can look into their custom package options here: Wolf Custom Package.

Safety and Environmental Consciousness

Though the theme of the day revolves around adrenaline, it also revolves around nature, and in order to appreciate nature in this way it is important to maintain a level of respect for your surroundings. Outdoor Adventures ATV is committed to the conservation of nature and wildlife within the spaces they operate in. The trails and areas being used for riding have been designated for these activities, but are still home to animals, plants, and important ecosystems. They are serious about the protection of the environments that they use, so they make sure to include information about what to avoid, what to look out for, and where not to ride while taking part in these amazing adventures.

Say Goodbye to Winter Indoors!

Truthfully, we wish we could be out on the trails, riding ATVs around South River right now. These adventure tours cover all of our bases for outdoor winter activities in Ontario. From being immersed in nature, to fast-paced, adrenaline-filled fun in a group setting there’s not a lot more we could ask for. We recommend you visit Outdoor Adventures ATV right away to check out everything they have to offer and to get outside to have a winter adventure with them as soon as possible.
